Sl. No.

English

1.

Title of the technology: Improved cropping pattern: Boro–Jute–T. Aman

Year of innovation: 2021

2.

Indroduction: The Boro-Fallow-T. Aman cropping pattern is cultivated in almost all districts of Bangladesh covering 2.31 million hectares of medium-high land. It is possible to cultivate three crops including jute crop instead of two crops in the said land. Generally seedlings are transplanted at 40-45 days in case of Boro and 30-35 days in case of T. Aman. The utility of this technology was verified through a research program from 2016 to 2020 in farmers' fields.

3.

Salient features of the technology:

a) Jute crop can be easily incorporated in medium high land after boro.

b) Three crops containing cropping pattern Boro-Jute-T. Aman will be introduced in place of two crops containing cropping pattern Boro-Fallow-T. Aman.

c) Cropping intensity will increase by following improved cropping pattern as compared to conventional pattern.

d) Farmers' income will rise with an increase in cropping intensity.
