Indroduction: Excess rain water accumulated in the jute field that drains out along the center of the two rows of jute plants through the shallow narrow drain. This technology was developed by JFSD through on-station research activities from 2010 to 2012. |

Salient features of the technology: a) It is possible to prevent overwatering in tossa jute crops. b) Improves crop yield by preventing jute plants from bending as a result of water accumulation. c) It is possible to increase jute fiber production by up to 20 percent under this management. |

Brief description of the technology: The excess water can be drained from jute field through shallow and narrow furrow between the two rows of jute plants. |

Suitability of the technology: This technology is suitable for all jute growing areas. The utility of this technology was verified through an on-station research program from 2010 to 2012. |
