Indroduction: The feasibility of this technology was evaluated in the Faridpur region between 1999 and 2003.

Salient features of the technology:

a) The improved cropping pattern Lentil+Mustard-Jute-Mungbean can incorporate four crops in place of the conventional cropping pattern Lentil+Mustard-Jute-Fallow.

b) Mung can be cultivated well in the Kharif-2 season between jute and lentils.

c) Farmers profit financially as crop productivity and intensity rise.

Suitability of the technology:

The cropping pattern can be introduced in high and medium high land of agro-ecological zones 11 and 12.

Economic benefit of the technology and role for livelihood development:

A total profit of Tk. 24518 per annum can be achieved following this improved cropping pattern.
